Vastu Shastra, an ancient guide to architecture and space planning, holds the secret to creating a harmonious environment that nurtures your child's potential. In this blog, we explore this wisdom, translating cosmic principles into practical tips for designing a Vastu-aligned kid's bedroom.
According to Vastu, the direction of each room plays a pivotal role in channeling energy. For instance, the East is considered auspicious for children's rooms, promoting a flood of morning light that brings positivity and mental clarity. Here at Magical Nest, we suggest placing the bed in the southwest corner to ensure stability, while the study desk nears the eastern walls, capturing the sparkle of new ideas with the sunrise.
Moreover, Vastu suggests that the door to knowledge and creativity swings wide open with the correct positioning of storage units. North-facing shelves can become treasuries of wisdom, while a clutter-free space is synonymous with a clear mind, ready to learn and explore.
Color, too, plays a significant character. Soothing pastels are the palette of choice, promoting tranquility and concentration, and vibrant accents can spark joy and creativity.
But it’s not just about following rules; it's about weaving them into a space that’s uniquely theirs. A Magical Nest room is a tapestry of tradition and individuality, designed not only to align with cosmic energy but to resonate with the vibrant spirit of its young inhabitants.
Stay tuned as we delve deeper into each element of the room, crafting spaces that are not just Vastu-compliant but are also vibrant vessels for childhood dreams and adventures.
Creating a sleep sanctuary for your child isn't just about picking the fluffiest pillows or the most charming bedspread — it's about positioning and balance, something Vastu Shastra, the ancient Indian science of architecture, knows all too well. According to Vastu, the ideal placement of a bed is in the southwest corner of the room, which is believed to lend stability and promote calmness in sleep. The head should ideally be towards the east or south to ensure that the dawn greets your child with positivity and the night soothes them with deep, uninterrupted dreams.
But Vastu cautions against a few placements that could disrupt the serenity of the space. For instance, having a bed directly in line with the door is a Vastu no-no; it’s called the ‘dead man’s position’ for a reason, as it’s believed to draw in negative energy. Similarly, windows should not face the bed directly as they disrupt the flow of peace, while mirrors reflecting the bed can cause restless energy, bouncing back any worries right at the sleeper. Instead, Magical Nest suggests opting for soothing symmetry and gentle placements that allow energy to flow smoothly, like a river of tranquility through the room.
For a Vastu-compliant bedroom, consider the use of understated, calming colors for bed furnishings, and ensure the bed is of high quality, sturdy, and without clutter stored underneath, to invite an aura of clarity and rest. With Magical Nest’s carefully curated designs, it's not just about adhering to Vastu; it's about creating a tailored, tranquil nook where your child can drift off into the land of dreams, nurtured by the gentle embrace of balance and harmony.
Creating a study space that adheres to Vastu principles not only enhances concentration and focus but also invites a serene ambiance that's perfect for learning. According to Vastu Shastra, the east is the most auspicious direction for children to face while studying, as the morning sun's rays are rich in Vitamin D and promote intellect.
For a clutter-free environment, encourage open spaces that allow energy to flow freely. Desks should be organized and tidy, with books and materials stored neatly—disorder can lead to a chaotic mind. Utilize Magical Nest's clever storage solutions that align with Vastu to ensure the study area remains inviting and conducive to learning.
Additionally, incorporating elements that stimulate positivity can be beneficial. For instance, having a globe or educational posters on the eastern walls can enhance academic success, as per Vastu. However, avoid placing mirrors directly in front of the study table as they can reflect away positive energy. And be mindful of colors; soft blues or greens are said to be calming and aid in concentration.
Lastly, while the study area should be well-lit, harsh lights are a no-go in Vastu. Instead, opt for Magical Nest’s range of ambient lighting that illuminates without overwhelming, crafting an ideal study nook that's a perfect blend of Vastu wisdom and modern design.
Creating a play area in your child's room is not just about providing space for fun and games; it's about laying the groundwork for their physical, mental, and spiritual development. Vastu Shastra, the ancient Indian science of architecture, can guide us to harmonize these spaces with the natural world, bringing in positivity and creativity.
According to Vastu principles, the east and north directions are ideal for play areas. These directions are associated with sunrise and light, fostering brightness in thought and clarity in action. Positioning the play area here ensures your child basks in the morning glory, imbibing vibrancy and vitality.
In a Magical Nest room, consider incorporating toys and games that align with the elements of nature – earth, water, fire, air, and space – which Vastu emphasizes for balance and harmony. For example, clay modeling or gardening kits can represent the earth, while a small water play table can symbolize the water element.
The play area should be clutter-free to allow chi, or life energy, to circulate freely. Use storage that is easily accessible to children, encouraging them to manage their toys and learn organizational skills – a subtle but effective way to introduce responsibility.
Choose colors that are vibrant yet soothing. Greens and blues can stimulate growth and tranquility, while yellows can stimulate intellect and cheerfulness. The decor should be uplifting; think wall decals of flying birds or stars that can inspire limitless imagination.
Lastly, include educational toys that align with Vastu's goal of overall development. Puzzle games that enhance problem-solving skills, musical instruments that resonate with harmony, or building blocks that promote spatial understanding can be particularly beneficial.
By integrating these Vastu tips, you turn the play area in a Magical Nest-designed room into more than just a fun corner; it becomes a crucible for growth, creativity, and positivity, where your child's every interaction is subtly guided by the principles of harmony and balance.
In Vastu, the right storage design can enhance the calmness and clarity of your child's space. Magical Nest understands that clutter can disrupt the serene vibe of a room; hence, our designs focus on maintaining a clean and organized environment. According to Vastu principles, storage units should be placed in the West or South-West direction of the room to promote stability and grounding. Avoid clutter and ensure that the storage units are not too high, as this can create a feeling of heaviness in the room. Using light-colored wood can also contribute to a sense of spaciousness. Ensure that the storage is adequate and accessible to encourage your child to keep their sanctuary tidy and harmoniously balanced.
Magical Nest's versatile storage solutions are designed with these principles in mind, offering a perfect blend of utility and Vastu compliance to cultivate an environment conducive to growth and peace for your child.
In the whimsical realm of a child’s bedroom, colors and decor are not just aesthetic choices—they are the silent whispers of energy, shaping moods and kindling imagination. Vastu Shastra, the ancient Indian science of architecture and energy, guides us to choose hues and adornments that promise a flourishing environment for our young ones.
Magical Nest knows that every shade we splash on the walls and each piece of decor we place holds the potential to elevate a room from mundane to harmonious. Let’s weave Vastu principles into the palette of your child’s room to bring about a balance that nurtures and soothes.
Whispers of Warmth and Calm
For the walls where dreams take flight, Vastu prescribes soft hues. Gentle greens embody freshness, triggering creativity, while tender pinks and blues exude serenity, offering a cocoon of calm. These pastel strokes are the canvas of comfort in a child's haven.
A Cornucopia of Colour for Growth
In corners dedicated to learning, yellow stands tall – a beacon of optimism and concentration. Gracing a study area with this sunny shade is like embedding a subconscious cheerleader, perpetually encouraging young minds to explore and excel.
Where Playfulness Permeates
For areas of play and giggles, Vastu gives a nod to vivacious oranges and joyful yellows. Here, the decor isn't merely visual - it's an interactive participant in playtime. Wall decals of whimsical creatures, celestial stick-ons, or a world map mural not only adorn but also inspire curiosity and knowledge.
Harmonizing with Hearty Hues
The heart of the room – where your child rests – calls for tranquility. Vastu suggests cooler tones like soft blues or greens, nurturing a peaceful slumber. Accentuate with plush throws and cloud-like pillows to complement the tranquil vibe.
Decor that Dances with Vastu
When selecting decor, think circular or smooth-edged. Round rugs or oval frames, for instance, help disperse energy evenly. Lamps emitting a soft glow create an aura of warmth, while plants – the evergreen Vastu favorites – enliven any nook with their life-giving presence.
Touch of Whimsy
Don’t forget the touch of whimsy, for what is a child’s room if not a place of joy? Pick decor that sparks delight – perhaps a balloon-shaped lamp or a bed with a playful headboard, always be mindful to position them in a Vastu-approved manner to maximize their positive effect.
Remember, the hues and objects you choose are silent symphonies in your child’s room, playing tunes of happiness, health, and harmony. Let the Vastu-guided brushstrokes of Magical Nest paint a world where your child thrives in every spectrum of life.
Incorporating Vastu Shastra into your child’s room is not just about the large elements; the subtle touches can significantly boost the room’s positive energy. Here are some quick, effective Vastu tips to uplift the vibe, personalized for the magical touch that Magical Nest provides.
Accessories Alignment:
Place accessories that inspire positivity and learning in the northeast direction. Think of puzzle games, DIY kits, or a globe. Not only does this adhere to Vastu, but it also subtly encourages a curious, learning mindset in your child’s daily life.
Let There Be Light:
Adequate lighting is essential, and as per Vastu, the room should have a window facing east to catch the morning sun. This promotes a bright, cheerful environment conducive to active minds. Magical Nest’s collection could include whimsical light fixtures that double as day-starters, with soft, natural tones to match the morning sky.
Mirror, Mirror, Not on the Wall:
Avoid placing mirrors directly opposite the bed. If necessary, ensure they’re placed on the North or East walls. In the spirit of Magical Nest, opt for playful, fun-shaped mirrors that can be educational tools as well, like alphabet or animal shapes.
Power of Imagery:
Decorate with images that embody strength, adventure, and knowledge. Paintings or photographs of landscapes, rising suns, or heroes can inspire and uplift. Magical Nest might offer a range of wall art that resonates with these themes, adding both aesthetic value and Vastu compliance.
Green is Serene:
Introduce a small plant in the East or Northeast corner to bring in growth and purity. Opt for non-toxic, child-friendly plants that are easy to maintain. Magical Nest’s décor could include innovative planters that integrate seamlessly with the rest of the room's theme.
These simple yet effective Vastu strategies can turn your child’s room into a well-being sanctuary, ensuring that every aspect of Magical Nest’s offerings not only looks good but feels good too, fostering an environment of balance, happiness, and learning.
Creating a Vastu-compliant bedroom for your child is more than just following ancient wisdom—it's about crafting a space that nurtures growth, balance, and happiness. Creating a learning-friendly bedroom starts with laying down the perfect foundation. Think of it as setting the stage for your child’s adventures in both the real and imaginary worlds. Here’s how you can build this solid groundwork:
Color Me Curious: The psychology of colors plays a pivotal role in setting the mood for learning and relaxation. Soft blues and greens are known to foster concentration and calmness, making them ideal for a child's study and sleep sanctuary. Incorporating vibrant accents can stimulate creativity without overwhelming their senses.
Let There Be Light: Good lighting is crucial. Natural light is a mood booster and enhances focus, so position the study area near a window. But since adventures also happen after sunset, ensure the room is equipped with warm, artificial lights that mimic the sun’s glow, keeping their little minds sharp and ready for bedtime stories.
Ergonomic Excellence: Children grow faster than beanstalks in fairy tales, so invest in adjustable and ergonomic furniture that grows with them. A chair that encourages good posture and a height-adjustable study desk at the right height can prevent the hunchback of Notre Dame syndrome and make homework and craft time more comfortable.
These elements, combined, form a nurturing environment that’s just right for your budding scholar. By focusing on these foundational aspects, you’re not just designing a room; you’re sculpting a haven that supports your child’s educational journey and well-being.
Every child is a unique blend of curiosity, energy, and imagination. Catering to these diverse traits means carving out specialized zones within their kingdom. Let's embark on a tour of these creative realms:
The Study Nook: No castle is complete without a secret chamber, and in the realm of learning, the study nook serves just that purpose. This cozy corner, armed with a desk that’s just the right size and shelves within arm's reach, becomes the command center for homework missions and artistic quests. Ensure it's a clutter-free zone, where focus flourishes amidst inspirational quotes and a personalized touch.
Reading Retreat: Imagine a snug cocoon where stories come alive — that’s the reading nook. A comfy bean bag, a soft rug, and a low bookshelf brimming with tales make for a perfect storybook land. It’s where dragons are befriended and spaceships are boarded, all in the comfort of their room.
Lab of Creativity: For the young inventor or artist, a section of the room dedicated to exploration and creation can spark joy and innovation. Whether it's a science kit corner or an art station, this space invites messes and masterpieces alike, equipped with easy-to-clean surfaces and ample storage for supplies.
Designing these zones with flexibility in mind allows the room to adapt to your child’s evolving interests. A well-thought-out space not only supports their current educational journey but also anticipates the chapters yet to come.
Transforming a room into a galaxy of knowledge and wonder doesn't require a magic wand—just some clever decor choices that spark curiosity and learning. Let's decorate to educate:
Wall of Wonders: Why settle for plain when you can have educational wallpapers? From the alphabet and numbers to maps and solar systems, walls can become a visual feast of learning opportunities. Imagine your child tracing continents on a world map or learning about the planets before bedtime—these are the decorations that teach.
Art that Educates: Who said art is just for looks? Hang up posters of famous inventors, inspirational leaders, or even flora and fauna that pique interest in the natural world. Art can be a window to history, science, and culture, framing knowledge in an accessible and engaging way.
Interactive Floors: Yes, floors can be educational too! Think play mats with roads for toy cars, puzzle pieces that fit together to form a story or even a hopscotch layout that encourages physical activity and counting. These playful touches not only add fun to the room but also sneak in some learning during playtime.
Shelf Life: Don’t underestimate the power of a well-stocked bookshelf. Accessible shelves filled with a variety of books encourage reading and exploration. For an extra touch, add thematic knick-knacks related to the book’s subjects to spark deeper interest.
Incorporating educational decor into your child’s room turns it into a space where every element encourages discovery and growth. It's about creating an environment that stimulates the mind while still being a comfortable haven for rest and play.
In the quest for knowledge, every young explorer accumulates a treasure trove of learning materials. The challenge? Keeping this bounty organized and accessible without turning the room into a Bermuda Triangle of lost items. Here's how to master the art of storage in a learning-friendly bedroom:
Secret Compartments: Think beyond traditional storage with beds that come equipped with hidden drawers for books and crafts, or desks featuring discreet compartments for stationery. It’s like having a secret base underneath where all educational tools are neatly stashed away, ready for their next adventure.
Magic Boxes: Transform cleanup into a fun activity with colorful, labeled bins and boxes. Assign each one for different supplies – one for art, another for science kits, and perhaps a mystical chest for miscellaneous treasures. This not only teaches organization skills but also makes finding resources a breeze.
Floating Shelves of Wisdom: Utilize vertical space with floating shelves that keep books, models, and educational toys in plain sight and within reach. Arranging items on different levels turns the wall into a dynamic display of learning materials, inviting exploration and study.
Rolling Libraries: A rolling cart can serve as a mobile library or craft station, easily moved to wherever inspiration strikes. It's perfect for housing current reads ongoing projects, or even a portable science lab, ensuring that creativity and learning are never confined to one spot.
By integrating these smart storage solutions, you create an organized, clutter-free environment that encourages learning and creativity. Plus, it makes the dreaded task of tidying up less of a chore and more of an extension of playtime.
As our little scholars grow, so do their interests and needs. A room that evolves with them not only nurtures their developing minds but also saves you from redecorating every few years. Let's look at some wizardly ways to ensure your child's room grows just as they do:
Furniture that Transforms: Invest in multifunctional furniture that adapts to your child's changing world. Think convertible desks that can adjust in height, or beds that expand from toddler size to teen. These magical pieces of furniture are like chameleons, perfectly blending into the landscape of your child’s growth phases.
Thematic Flexibility: Instead of going all-in on the latest superhero craze, opt for neutral backgrounds with easily changeable accessories. This way, you can update the room's theme with new bed linens, lampshades, or posters without needing a complete overhaul. It’s like having a new adventure with every interest phase!
Interactive Walls: Use magnetic paint or chalkboard walls to create spaces where creativity is not just encouraged but expected. These walls can host everything from a gallery of masterpieces to the formula for the perfect slime. Best of all, they can be updated as often as your child’s imagination takes flight.
Zone of Their Own: Designate spaces within the room for different activities – a corner for quiet reading, a desk for homework, and an open area for building and play. These zones can easily be updated to match their growing interests, ensuring their room is always a reflection of their current passions.
By incorporating adaptable designs into your child’s bedroom, you create a space that not only grows with them but also encourages them to explore, learn, and dream big. It’s about creating a backdrop that supports every chapter of their childhood story.
In the kingdom of childhood, where dragons are slayed and galaxies explored, the paramount rulers are Safety and Comfort. Here's how to ensure these sovereigns grace your child's room, making it a sanctuary for adventures and dreams:
Knightly Guardrails: Whether it's a bunk bed for lofty dreams or a loft bed that doubles as a fortress, ensuring guardrails are in place is like having a knight in shining armor guarding against nighttime tumbles. Opt for beds designed with built-in safety features to keep the dream journey smooth.
The Soft Landing: Accidents happen, especially when the floor is lava. Incorporating soft rugs, plush pillows, and foam mats not only adds a layer of comfort but also provides a safer landing for those unexpected leaps. It’s like having a safety net, but softer and more colorful.
The Clear Path: Ensuring there’s ample space to walk (or dance) without tripping over toys or furniture is crucial. Use smart storage solutions to keep pathways clear, creating a room where freedom of movement is a right, not a privilege. It’s like designing a maze where every path leads to fun, without peril.
Non-Toxic Kingdom: In a world where curiosity reigns, everything is subject to taste tests and close inspection. Choose non-toxic, child-friendly materials for furniture, paint, and decor to ensure that their realm is as safe as it is enchanting. It’s the royal decree for health and happiness.
Incorporating these elements of safety and comfort turns a child’s room into a trusted playground, a classroom without bounds, and a castle of dreams. It’s about creating a space where parents can rest easy and children can soar freely.

Cognitive development is like a little seedling, sprouting, and growing with every new experience. It encompasses a child's learning abilities, problem-solving skills, memory, and creativity. Now, imagine if a child's room could be the fertile soil nurturing this seedling!
A well-designed room can be a treasure trove of cognitive development opportunities. For instance, a simple act of reaching for a toy on a strategically placed shelf can enhance problem-solving skills. A colorful room with different shapes and patterns can stimulate creativity and visual learning.
Let's take a Magical Nest favorite - our themed beds. They're not just for sleeping; they're a launchpad for imaginative play! A spaceship-themed bed can transport your little astronaut to the moon and back, fostering creativity and imaginative thinking.
And then there's the study area. A well-lit, quiet corner with an organized desk can improve concentration and make learning more enjoyable.
Every corner of a child's room can be a cognitive development hotspot. It's all about designing with purpose and understanding that even the smallest detail can be a stepping stone for your child's cognitive growth. So, let's design rooms that are not just beautiful, but also brain-boosting!
Just as a garden needs both sun and rain to flourish, children need a balance of personal space and social interaction for their emotional and social growth. And guess what? The design of a child's room can play a pivotal role in this!
A room designed with areas for play and interaction can encourage social skills. For instance, a play corner with a mini tea set or a toy garage can be the perfect setting for your child to host playdates, fostering social interactions and teamwork.
On the emotional front, a child's room is their safe haven. It's a space where they can express themselves freely. A room that reflects their interests and personality can boost their self-esteem and sense of identity. For instance, a wall decorated with their artwork or a shelf displaying their favorite books and toys can make them feel valued and understood.
Moreover, a cozy and comfortable room can provide emotional security. A soft rug, a cuddly teddy, or a comfy reading nook can make their room a soothing sanctuary where they can relax and manage their emotions.
A well-designed room can be a nurturing environment for your child's social and emotional development. It's like a mini world where they can learn, grow, and be themselves!
Physical development is a crucial aspect of a child's growth, and it's not just about running in the park or playing a sport. Did you know that a child's room can be a mini fitness zone too? Yes, you read that right! The design of a child's room can encourage physical activity and enhance motor skills.
Let's start with the basics - furniture. At Magical Nest, we design furniture that's not just safe and sturdy but also encourages movement. For instance, a low-height bed allows your child to climb up and down independently, enhancing their motor skills.
Then there's the play area. A room with ample space for play encourages physical activity. Add a mini basketball hoop or a wall climbing unit, and voila! Your child's room is now a fun-filled fitness zone.
Storage units can also play a role. A bookshelf within your child's reach encourages them to stand on their tiptoes to grab their favorite storybook, promoting balance and coordination.
A well-designed room can contribute to your child's physical development. It's about creating a space that encourages movement, independence, and most importantly, fun! After all, a healthy child is a happy child!

There will be many changes in their lifestyle, and that will reflect the appearance of their room, from as funky as possible to sober tones, sometimes clumsy to sometimes organized. Welcome to the extravaganza tour of the teen’s room! With our tips, you can create a teens room that balances functionality, safety, and fun.
It is a phase where they take baby steps toward forming an identity. It includes a lot of experimentation with choices. Choosing pleasant colors that play along with brighter tones balances the constant change of preferences. Boys love color combinations like navy blue and white, black and white, and so on. Whereas pink and gold, bright and bold, surely catch the eye of teen girls. The theme of the room can reflect your teen's hobbies. They can have their favorite musical instruments, portraits, and quotes to add to the beautiful decor.
Style is the default when choosing furniture for your lovely teen's room. Based on their sleeping habits and the bedroom space available, you choose a larger one or a twin-size bed with a soft or firm mattress. The desk and the chair are necessities, and the size depends on the requirement. Oh yes, the DRESSER! What would they do without a mirror? Hahaha... A vertical mirror with lights bordered around looks elegant. If the space permits, a bench by the window with pretty cushions for a relaxing moment will be perfect. An armchair or a swing can also be an option for a sit-out.
From clothes to shoes, books to electronic gadgets, teens have a lot to stuff in. Give them enough wardrobe space and other storage based on the requirements of their belongings. You may need to make room for their sports equipment as well. Books and study magazines are the basics. Wardrobe organizers, under-bed-storage, and storage cubes are well-served spaces that take in things making the room look less messy and tidier.
The teen’s room can have a mini basketball court, a punching bag, or both for a cool sport time. And for the mind- a scribbling board or a crafts corner for the art and colors is the best to soothe the mind. Puzzles, crosswords, and other brain games are fun, and a space for the same makes it suitable for the kids to have a good time. The art studio, exercise area, reading corner, and music space- Magical Nest does it all!
All-in-all, designing a teenager's room is a thrilling journey that offers an opportunity to showcase their personality and creativity. It's a chance for parents to collaborate with their teens to create a space that reflects their unique style and interests. The possibilities to select the perfect furniture and color, the right decor and accessories, for your teens' room, are endless. The key is to balance functionality and aesthetics, ensuring that the bedroom meets the teen's practical needs. With little imagination and attention to detail, the room will look close to perfection, a safe space for relaxation, study, and self-expression. A well-designed teen room is a reflection of the personality of your teen and vice-versa.
The room design should promote both shared and one's own space. The little munchkins spend most of their time there- playing, studying, and sleeping. All these activities enrich their bonding which is for the greater good. It could be a task to design the kids' room which both the children love. Here are some guidelines to craft a perfect kids' room for your lovely kids.
‘Don’t come this side, it is my place.’- this is the usual banter of siblings. With twins, on the other hand, there will be times they bond really well while playing and doing other activities. But it does not mean they don’t show tantrums. They still need their own space. Though it is a shared room, it is essential to dedicate a personal space for both kids. Sleep and study are the main aspects to consider. Make use of the vertical space for the bedding. A bunk bed or separate twin bed are good options. A trundle bed is an answer if space constraint is an issue. (we have a unique and functional layout design for all sized rooms, so don't worry about it). And a shared study desk with separate chairs is the choice of comfort for the kids to concentrate better on their homework and assignments.
Colors do affect the mood of your little kids. Choose them wisely. If the walls carry subtle colors, contrast them with a single bright tone to balance the vibe. Vice versa, if the room is on the verge of being vibrant and energetic, compliment it with neutrality, as it is thought to create stability for the mind, as kids have a range of emotions. It is comparatively easier for the girl siblings or the brother siblings. The theme could be their favorite sport for the boys, whereas, for the girls, it could be a fairyland or simply elegant colors blended with soothing shades. For twins, you can choose neutral colors like yellow, gray, and blue, and incorporate calmer tones to balance the vibe. It makes it easier to add their favorite colors with time, as they grow. The room can be more personalized by having their names etched on the headboard or a fancy loft area that looks no little than a fantasy world with a touch of reality.
Two kids mean double the storage space. The boys and girls will have a variety of toys, from cars and soft dolls to kitchen sets and many more. The main concern is- Where do I put all their stuff? There can be various spots in the room for storage. The design plan of your kids’ room can also contribute to storing their belongings. Under-bed storage suffices for bedsheets, blankets, and other bed accessories. For a bunk bed or the loft area, choose stairs instead of ladders that serve as drawers. Another way to maximize storage in a sibling's or twin's room is by using the space under the bed. There are various under-bed storage solutions, such as bins, rolling drawers, or bed risers with cabins. These can be used for storing seasonal clothes, extra bedding, and so on, saving closet space for regular wear. Next, about closet space, closet organizers such as hanging shelves with drawers and cabins make it convenient to arrange and store the items. Storage blended with the study table pitch in for the stationery. Consider using different colors, patterns, and personalized knobs for each child’s belongings to minimize confusion like ‘Oh, she has kept her things in my wardrobe.' Lastly, wall-mounted shelves contribute to books, show toys, and decorative items that also add to the neat appearance of the room. Tidier the room-better is the aura!
Indoor games for relaxation and leisure are definitely not a bad idea. It is a great way to stir little minds' creativity and imagination. The play area makes the room wholesome, adding to the overall development of the children. Whether your child loves to build with blocks, play dress-up, or do puzzles, having a designated play area in their room can provide a space to explore and have fun. Consider the available space to create the play town, so there is neither waste of space nor an over-dump of materials. Include age-appropriate activities and make the safety check. Rock climbing and monkey bars, punching bags and swings, basketball and whatnot- to make the best of it by having your kid’s favorite game in their room. For the mind, a scribbling board-white/black is a creative way to showcase their artwork. The lego wall or wall-board games gets their mind to roll and dive with zero lousy moments.
In conclusion, designing a shared bedroom for siblings or twins can be a challenging task, and it's also a great opportunity to create a space that reflects the personalities and preferences of both children. By considering factors such as age, gender, and interests, you can choose a color scheme, furniture, and accessories that will make both the kids. Feel at Home! Remember to include storage solutions, designated sleeping areas, and play areas to ensure the room is functional and comfortable for both children. With mindful planning and creativity, a shared bedroom of kids can be transformed into a space that fosters sibling bonding and growth.
From sharp edges to electrical points and fabrics to decors, every element in the room must be kid-friendly for a risk-free space so that kids can access every part of their room without getting injured.
Sharp edges are the most harmful. With children being who they are, playful around, round edges or edges with masks are the go-to precautions. The corners of the tables, bed, and the knobs of the storage and cabins in the room have smooth textures with blunt edges that cause no harm to the kids. At Magical Nest, all our furniture has soft, round edges.
Curiosity is at its peak in kids. Fiddling with things is not uncommon. The tiny eyes’ attention goes to the power sockets in the room. Hence, electric points are covered, with no visible wires in the room, so it does not urge the kids to dissect and try to become young engineers.
We at Magical Nest, personalize every kid's bedroom according to the parent's and kids' choices and preferences. Safety and design go hand-in-hand with zero compromises on either. The wings of the fan are smaller and covered, especially in the rooms with a bunk bed or loft area that make the space absolutely safe for the kids to play on.
Height is another aspect to be cautious about. The beds are protected with bars so your kids can sleep peacefully, stretching their arms and legs without fearing rolling out off the edge. The bunk bed and loft area are loved by kids but parents' concern is the height. Not to worry, it is safeguarded with railings that act as barriers.
Furniture that can withstand the energy and playfulness of kids is a must-have in a kid's room. Children are naturally active and love to jump and play, especially in groups. So, it's important to select furniture that can withstand the rough and tumble of everyday play. At Magical Nest, we create lofts that can take up to 250kg weight. These lofts are not only fun but also functional, as kids can play board games or even jump on them without worrying about the furniture falling apart. This adds to the overall safety and durability of the room.
When it comes to selecting bedding and mattresses, opt for materials that are flame-retardant and hypoallergenic to ensure the safety of your child. Also, ensure that the bed frame and mattress are the appropriate sizes for your child. A twin-size bed is recommended for children over 6 years old.
Finally, consider the overall design and layout of the room. Keep in mind that your child will be spending a lot of time in this space, so it's important to create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere that promotes learning and play. Avoid clutter and choose functional and fun decor that will inspire your child's creativity. It is important that the furniture is proportional to the room size and not overcrowded, this will reduce the chance of tripping or falling.
One important aspect to consider is the toxicity of the materials and paints used in your child's room. Many conventional paints and finishes contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) which can be harmful to both the environment and human health. These VOCs can cause a range of symptoms, including headaches, nausea, and respiratory problems, and have been linked to more serious health issues like cancer and neurological disorders. When selecting furniture and decor, look for items that are made from natural, non-toxic materials such as solid wood, cotton, and linen. Avoid items that are made from synthetic materials or contain formaldehyde or other chemical preservatives. At Magical Nest, all our materials are completely non-toxic, non-VOC, and do not contain any formaldehyde.
In conclusion, safety should always be the top priority when designing and decorating your child's room. By choosing sturdy, non-toxic materials and features that promote stability and durability, you can create a space that is both safe and functional for your child to grow and play. At Magical Nest, safety is at the core of everything that we design and that’s why our kid's rooms are the safest in India.

Choosing the right bedsheet for your child can be a bit of a challenge, as there are so many different materials, patterns, and sizes to choose from. Though there are endless options, there are a few key aspects to consider while choosing the perfect bedsheet for your child’s room.
When it comes to bedsheets for kids, the material is one of the most important factors to consider. You want a material that is soft, comfortable, and durable, and that will hold up to frequent washing. Be aware of the chemicals used in the manufacture of the sheets as the harmful ones can affect your kid. Some of the most popular materials for children's bedsheets include:
It is important to choose a bedsheet that fits your child's mattress properly, as a sheet that is too small or too large can be uncomfortable and difficult to use. It is also not safe for the kids if the sheet is hanging off the bed. To determine the size of bedsheet you need, measure the length and width of your child's mattress, including any mattress pads or toppers. Standard bed sheet sizes for children's beds include twin, full, and queen.
Choosing the ideal bed sheet for your kid’s room is exciting as there are many options, from textures to colors and themes to patterns, the one that goes with the vibe of the room. When choosing a bedsheet for your child, consider their style and preferences, as well as the overall decor of their bedroom. It can be their favorite cartoon or superhero. Have a collection of bedsheets as it gives you options to mix and match the pillowcases with the bedsheet, because why not be creative?
Bedsheets for children will need to be washed frequently, so it is important to choose a material and design that is easy to care for. Most bed sheets are machine washable, but be sure to follow the manufacturer's care instructions to ensure that they stay in good condition. Doing so will add to the durability and quality of your little one's favorite bedsheet. If your child has allergies or sensitivities, you may want to consider bed sheets made from hypoallergenic materials or with a high thread count, as these can help reduce the risk of irritation.

Bunk beds for kids can also come with some potential issues, and understandably, parents are concerned about various aspects of having a bunk bed in their kids' rooms. Here are some of the most common concerns and how Magical Nest solves those to ensure your kid is safe and comfortable when sleeping or playing in our bunk beds and loft beds.
The top-level bed may become a barrier to air circulation around the room. Oh! The constant fight among the kids on who will sleep on the upper loft as the lower one gets too uncomfortable.
Our Solution:
Magical Nest's bunk and loft beds have built-in fans on both levels. We are the first and only company doing so. It ensures that there is air circulation at each level. The two fans can be controlled separately to provide adequate airflow. Our fans are covered so that their blades cause no harm to your kids. Say goodbye to stuffy rooms and feel the fresh air in the well-ventilated kid's room.
The height of the bunk bed is far less than the ideal vertical height, making the space congested. This limited height of the loft might compromise the easy accessibility of the bed at both levels and unnecessarily throw away the ceiling space.
Our Solution:
While designing, we ensure that we design it in a way that there is good space available at both levels. Magical Nest’s bunk beds take advantage of the total ceiling height, resulting in great comfort on both levels.
Bunk beds are generally higher off the ground than traditional beds, which can make falling out of bed more likely. Shorter railings on the upper bunk bed level are a potential safety hazard. Allowing kids to play or sleep by themselves in the loft is worrisome for parents.
Our Solution:
The first aspect of concern is safety. To reduce the risk of falling, our bunk beds have guardrails on all sides of the top bunk. Taller and themed railings or just the rope harness ensures peace of mind for you as parents. Not only it provides safety but also adds to the overall look of the kid’s room interiors.
Most bunk beds come with a weight-bearing warranty of a maximum of 55 kg. If our kids have friends or cousins over, or if we have to accompany them, it is impossible.
Our Solution:
Magical Nest believes in quality family time. We design keeping in mind the happiness kids can share with their parents and friends. The upper bunk is super strong to support up to 250 kg weight. There you go, parents! Climb up with your kids to the cozy loft area, read stories and play games with them.

Screen time is snatching away precious time from kids. Online classes were the inevitable reason to glue the eyes on the screen. That time has sailed, and fortunately, the world is now offline. Parents! Make sure your kid looks at the world through a non-screen view. Playing like Tom and Jerry on the street with friends, making sand castles on the beach, engaging in household chores, conversations with family, gardening, and spending time with nature-everything that does not include blue light.
Kids distance themselves from mingling with people as gadgets replace them with games and videos, which seem more interesting and exciting than social interaction. This habit eventually leads to feelings of loneliness and sadness. Hence, socializing should be emphasized for better bonding with friends and family.
Electronic gadgets think they have the superpower to control minds with their mesmerizing screens. They do not motivate learning, block homework assignments with their shield of addictive videos, and say no to group play. And it is time to burst the bubble and show them they are not smarter as they think. Gradually decreasing the use of these gadgets will help kids to focus on themselves and their healthy well-being.
A robotic routine becomes monotonous. Gadgets do not allow kids to form a hobby of their interests. It curbs their interests and passions, which may lead to a lack of productivity and efforts to improve themselves.
Taking away kids' ipads or phones or telling them not to play with them for long may lead to temper tantrums. They feel agitated, which makes them angry and irritable. Their mood swings affect their daily activities.
Exposure to screens for an indefinite time has ill effects on mental and physical health as well. Kids that become over-dependent on phones or ipads affect their overall development. Their sleep cycle is disturbed, and eating habits get altered, which harms their health. It compromises socializing and communication, influencing a negative impact on the mind and body.
Kids start using gadgets because they are bored and there is not much to do. As a Kids’ Room Designing Company, we want to ensure that your little kiddos live their childhood to the fullest by creating a space as unique as theirs to explore and to become the best version of themselves. There are distinctive ways in which the Magical Nest provides itself to keep up with your kid’s energy and passion.
They can pretend-play and party-dance with friends as the room has play gyms, games, and more. They can study in a dedicated space to eliminate distractions and that motivates learning and curiosity. Meaningful wardrobes and storage persuade a sense of organization and discipline. And finally, kids can sleep comfortably in personalized beds for a restful night. Having a theme inside a kid’s room makes the room personal to the kid and gives them a sense of belonging and ownership. It’s a space that they can call their own.
It is not possible to completely avoid gadgets but the time spent on the same can be supervised by parents. Let us not let these screen robots eat away our kid’s smart brains and for creating a personalized kid’s room, do reach out to us!

Sanvriti's room is inviting, with a unicorn on the wall and closet, as well as colorful steps leading up to the play loft. Lighting is an important aspect in making a space appear bright, and the cloud lights are perfect for the purpose. A study desk, and a whiteboard, along with the bookshelf made it look complete. The little things always bring happiness. She, with her compatriot, the most loyal best friend, Teddy began their journey of adventure. From that day, it was called Maya’s Magic Box.
Seatbelt, Engine, Go! The box was sometimes a racing car. The girl, with her helmet, and teddy wearing the glass, vroomed in the Lightning McQueen.
It was sometimes a castle built to protect herself and her best friend, Ted. They together fought the dragon who attacked to destroy the lovely castle. After the glorious triumph over the evil drag, the girl and Ted did a victory dance- Tap,Tap,Tap! Say Bye Bye Dragon!
The next mission was to fly. Maya was curious about the stars and planets. Ted and she built a spaceship and were all set to explore space. They were in AWE at the twinkling stars and the glowing moon.
Years passed by, Maya grew up, and well... hmmm... the magic box was just a box again, which held safe her belongings. It lived with the pile of other boxes.
We all know life is a circle of events. While Maya was busy with her work, she heard a sound from the other room. What was it?
She walked to check. There he was, her son, who was sailing in the Pirate Ship. The ‘just a box’ was now a Magic Box again.
Nostalgia always takes us back to the line of memories that brings a sense of joy and satisfaction.
Sometimes we need to see through the eyes of a child to realize that a box is never a box but full of possibilities. So play with your kid to rediscover the hidden world of creativity and maybe you’ll relearn a thing or two that you have forgotten a long time ago. And if you need our help to design a kid's room that is fun and playful then do reach out to us and we would love to do your kid's room.

Here are some of the functional and sprightly kid’s rooms that we have designed in Bangalore, and admired by the parents.
Designing a kids room for siblings is fun every single time. To blend their choices and create a lovely space is a pleasure. A daughter of age six years and a son of age ten years are the loving children of Mr. and Mrs. Narayan Pai. Namitha likes her room with barbie wallpaper and enjoys playing with her toys in the tent, while Naman loves to have a play zone, especially for his PS4. A bed and loft area, study table and bookshelf, wardrobe, and storage were among the basic requirements of the parents.
To have imagined a dreamlike room and to eventually own it, in reality, is a thrill to the kids. The subdued colors giving a glossy appearance are all about the vibe of Naman and Nimitha’s kids' room. The white theme bedroom dressed up with blue, yellow, and pink bestows a gender-neutral shade. The loft area for play and relaxation with an individual study desk, sectioned wardrobe with a bookshelf in between, and the trundle bed for restful sleep and magical dreams give a wholesome feeling enhanced with independent space for the siblings.
Grandchildren's desires are never said no to by their grandparents. The adorable siblings were getting a room exclusively designed for play and sleep. The elder brother aged eight years and the little sister aged four years are a fan of Spiderman and Disney princesses. The wishlist for the children's bedroom included a bunk bed and storage in every corner possible for toys, board games, and all other belongings of theirs. As it was going to be a playroom too, rock climbing and a monkey bar were on the list along with a whiteboard for the artwork. The decor is the element that enhances the appearance of the room. Hence, galaxy star lighting for the ceiling and gender-neutral colors were preferred.
The room looks vibrant with colors blue and yellow, based on white. Magical Nest prioritizes the requirements of the parents. Accordingly, the bunk bed with stairs to the loft area, preferred colors, the play gym area, storage spaces, and a scribbling board are all the elements to tick off the wish list. The velvet cushioned blue headboard, the magnetic wall-board games, world map prints on the wardrobe and the vehicle-theme blinds for the window are the appealing aspects of the room. The spiderman background for rock climbing, monkey bar, and the basketball board is all that is needed to steer the energetic souls to stay fit and fine. It would rather be incomplete without a window seater bed to enjoy nature, relax and refresh. This kids' bedroom is a welcoming space with a bright ambiance.
Mr. and Mrs. Gaurav want a lovely kid’s room designed for their princess Nitara. The parents had a clear picture of what they were expecting which helped our design team to plan accordingly and present the room which was more than a fairy tale. Though the era of online learning is zooming, reading books always bags its place on the top. A reading corner and a bookshelf, bunk bed, scribbling area, and storage were the required elements. Star ceiling lights and subtle colors for the appearance added to the décor elements.
Minimalism is elegance! Couch-like queensy bed in the big capacious room along with a cushioned loft area propped with cute pillows for both play and relaxation gives the kid's room a fancy appearance. The vertical mirror by the bed is laced with lights, the blackboard, and the study space, yet the room has enough space for the little girl to run and play around. The wardrobe and storage are the go-to cabins to look for Nitara's belongings. The house based on the seventh floor gives a scenic view of the surrounding, and a swing by the window to sway with the breeze and enjoy the view while reading a book is one of the pleasant ways to spend time.
Children love to play outdoors, in the park, making new friends. Kids enjoy learning through exploring. But because of covid, our routines have turned topsy-turvy. From the smallest of habits to major ones, there have been drastic changes. One such concern of the parents is their kid's inclination toward screen time. Akshara's parents were on the same boat as well. She was curious to learn about plants and insects and everything around in nature. But she had forgotten about it over the past years and had become more interested in just movies. Her parents wanted to design her room to be planned based on a theme that gave her the space to bring back her keen interests. With pastel colors, especially green and yellow, a study table, and more importantly a reading corner with shelves for books and ample storage.
A go-green theme room with shades of yellow and blue! The twin bed has a velvet patterned headboard with rabbit-shaped pillows and side tables with a bed lamp. Akshara’s favorite part of her room is the loft area! It is propped with wall board games and a scribbling area with comfort cushioning. The wardrobe by the bed, a study table, and a bench by the window for a reading corner in the room, and the pretty little butterflies, leaves, and bird knobs appear to be the perfect kid’s room for Akshara that is sprinkled with warmth and delight.
Having a sibling is the best company for life. Vihaan was going to have his baby sibling and for both of them, a kid’s room was in the making, designed with adoration. Vihaan is a complete sport-love boy. Cricket and Badminton are among his favorites. Space for keyboard and board games, bunk bed and study table with the theme of cars, and space for the room were the required elements.
The kid’s room has a sporty vibe, just the way Vihaan wanted. A bunk bed columned with a slide and stairs on either side to the fun loft area with board games and scribbling area. By the bed is the play gym area with bar climbers, ring-swing, and a rope ladder. A study table and a space-theme walled rock climber add to the adventurous time in the sibling's room. Vihaan’s name is etched over the headboard decored with cricket symbols, customized blankets, cushions, and the bench by the window to relish the view of the garden. Storage is the priority with kids in the house. Ample storage is provided with cabins and shelves for the siblings’ possessions.
So how do we choose a colour for children’s bedrooms as they are ever-growing and their preferences keep rolling with each phase of their growth? This is one of the many reasons why kids get amused with colours, and why their toys and dolls are colourful. Because they are still in the exploring phase, hence they need to see it all to choose their favourite. That doesn’t mean their rooms are splashed with every colour on the palette to make them look colourful. With time, children do pick their favourite colours.
Here are a few of the colours we chose to discuss their meaning and influence.
White is a timeless classic representing tranquillity. White, similar to water, gracefully accepts anything with it. It is about how the colour functions as a pillar, allowing the other hue to shine through while enhancing the appearance of the room making it look more open and spacious. If you are looking to bring tranquillity and calmness into your kid’s room then do consider playing with white.
Radiant, bold, and powerful. Do these describe your little one? These are the words that strike the mind when we see the colour red. When on the walls, it gives the room a daring look, complimenting the courageous personality of your kid. As with any other powerful colour, be careful with overuse. Too much red can also queer the vibe of the room. If red is your kid’s favourite colour, then combining it with other subtle shades to balance the tone does the trick.
The colour purple quietly yet significantly carries luxury and royalty and portrays ambition and wisdom. The kid's bedroom with lilac walls illuminates royalty, and powers calmness. The purpleness of the room intends to appease the vigorous mind of the kid, also favouring the kid to focus better on academics and providing an atmosphere for a goodnight's sleep. Purple is also the colour of magic, so splatter it on the walls to bring charm to your prince or princess’s room.
Sunshine always endorses itself with a pleasant feeling. Getting into a yellow-painted kid’s room evokes cheerfulness as the colour portrays happiness and warmth. Yellow is a gender-neutral colour. However, getting the whole room painted yellow could be overwhelming for your little ones. Mixing it with grey, white or any other cooler shade mellows down the room's atmosphere and makes it a perfect kid's bedroom.
Indoor plants have been the talk of the town in recent days as a form of decor and more importantly, for the kind of vibe they create in the space. The colour green is associated with growth, harmony, and balance. This natural colour also has a positive effect on the child's reading and comprehension skills. You can combine this with brown to create the jungle or animal themes in your kid’s room.
There is a range of emotions and personalities tied to the colour blue. From imagination, intuition, and sensitivity to loyalty, confidence, and wisdom, the colour blue signifies most of the qualities related to freedom. Children usually are tiny packets of energy, having strokes of blue on their room walls is said to calm them. Blue colour also goes well with most of the themes from sky to oceans and hence you can never go wrong with it in your kid’s room.
The walls of the kid's room can proudly embrace the colour pink because it is the colour that represents kindness and generosity. And there is no stereotype when it comes to instilling positive emotions to raise children healthily. The fairytale embraces the dreamy pastel pinks and so, which kid would not be eager to listen to fantasy stories with unicorns, palaces and so on…
The colours in the room enhance its aesthetics, but furniture and other elements capture the attention while designing the space. Giving the colours the same importance as other aspects gives your kid's room a wholesome appearance. Our experts at Magical Nest will work closely with you to understand your preferences and leverage colours to make the kid’s room of your dreams a reality.
A well-known psychologist, Lev Vygotsky, whose work on the psychological development of children is quite notable, says that play is an important part of early childhood as it promotes cognitive, social, and emotional development. There is learning that happens in every kind of play, and young children indulge in various mediums of communication through play. Children are active participants in building their understanding of their environment. Their mind acts like a sponge, grasping as much information as possible.
Physical play helps in the improvement of fine and gross motor skills. Running, jumping, and other muscles-in-action activities yield an energized mind and the body. Is it too sunny out there to play? How about having to play all those outdoor games inside your room? A room is a space to grow through all dimensions. Magical nest designs the kid’s room space in a way so it has room for all those fun games under one roof.
Basketball, monkey bars, and wall-climbing - to play along with friends and cousins. What is a game if it doesn’t have a prank in it? Make teams, get hold of the wall climber and basket the ball! Escape to the other side of the room holding onto the monkey bar.
Oh! There is another game. Color-color which color do you choose? Keep a timer, and watch out for how quickly you can climb onto the chosen color rock on the wall climber. Isn’t it amazing how various games can be played inside the room that gives you the playground kind of feel?
“Listen to me kid, finish all your homework and reading, then I will let you play as much as you want!” Isn’t this the line used by most parents (including mine!) to get the child to complete his/her schoolwork? But giving the child frequent opportunities for free play leads to better performance in academic tasks. From improving memory and attention to enhancing language skills and problem-solving abilities, indulging in play activities does wonders in the child’s development process.
Games that need the child to think boost creativity. Kids own a magical room. Building blocks, Lego, Puzzles, and Board games... You need not wonder if we are talking about a room or a playhouse! We are surely talking about the kid’s bedroom. After evening snacks, the tiny energy packets, relax on the designed-for-you floor rug to begin constructing room roof scrapers. Ask your Lego buddies for help (only if you have already created them, HAHA). Such a time taking task needs a break. Climb up to the loft area and get started with the board games. Is it the king-queen-soldiers or snake and ladder?
Aren’t colors the most attractive? Any kid will get drawn to a vibrant sight. Drawing and Painting are those among the meaningful means of communication, especially with children. This form of leisure is beyond just a pass-time. Art encourages imaginative thinking and the observation skills are in the play as well. Art need not restrict to crayons and paints. Rhymes and poems are equally fun and artistic.
Art is an activity that gels well among siblings, friends, and who not. The artboard on the wall is all the needed space for creating and expressing. Games can also be played through art. Draw a picture and ask the younger sibling to guess it. It is both fun and learning is also possible for their pre-school classes. Or draw the window view and call Mumma and Pappa to show off the sketch! Let the younger sibling sing a rhyme and the elder one draw the theme of the same! Not every drawing is planned. A favorite doodle you want to preserve? Draw it on a sheet of paper and pin it up on the pin-up board. Things to do with colors is a long list I see…
Fun is the sole motivation for play. Children play games because it is amusing for them. Summer and rains needn’t any longer be the reason to stay indoors and endure boredom. Because, the FUN-ctional room gives homes the space for games like Hide&Seek, Peek-a-Boo, and oh! The Treasure Hunt (the storage spaces are the secret holders).
The kid’s room is an all-in-one space for learning and fun. The tiny tots can HIDE over the loft area or by the bed, behind the pretty blinds, or under the study desk, while the other buddy can SEEK you. The fancy storage cabins, inside the personalized wardrobes or the wall shelves, can be the hide-outs for the treasure hunt game. Why not play hopscotch over the colored-floor rug as well?
For kids, vacation is to have fun, agreed! But it is also the time phase for them to learn their household responsibilities. When schools are functioning, the days are monotonous. Starting with waking up-school assignments and ending with sleep, where there is little to no time for any other activity. Holidays are the time kids are at home and they are in close view of what their parents do. It is important to understand the roles of the family members in the house. As kids, it is easier to develop habits than as adults. It is important to teach children their basic duties and let them take authority over their space. Doing house chores is as important as learning lessons at school. But directing small kids to do something is a task. It is said, children watch and learn.
Role modeling can be exciting and is also one of the best ways to be in the other person’s shoes. The kid can dress up like a gardener, and water the plants. At the same time, the parent can guide the child by telling them about the plants' nourishment and what happens if they are not taken care of. The elder sibling in the house can take up baking and make something as small as cupcakes for evening tea. Through this, they will understand the effort behind cooking and inculcate the habit of respecting food and thinking twice before leaving anything on the plate. And the younger sibling learns from the elder one and this is a cycle.
The designing team at Magical Nest considers each of their projects with passion and delicacy because Magical Rooms mean Happy parents!
Outgrowing a choice is not something to be surprised about, especially concerning children in their growing years. Dhyaan, a 6-year-old, is a vivacious boy who has a mind for all kinds of muscle activities. His parents wanted his room to have a play space with climbers and ropes and not to forget his studies-Desk space for his online classes and homework.
The room seizes the classic white and wood theme with a shade of blue. The wood-hut loft area can be climbed up to via stacked stairs-that also function as storage. The activity corner with ladder and ropes is much more fun along with a chalkboard placed on the wall for the artwork. Car art for the wardrobe and the sportistic knob for the stairs storage add to the vibe of the room.
Creating a shared kids’ room for a boy and girl with different choices and preferences is both fun and intricate. Avyan and Anaira, aged 9 and 4 were to get their kid's room. The brother is a fan of Justice League and Avengers. He loves to play basketball and enjoys reading books. The little sister, who is still young, likes to play with dolls.
Bringing two different worlds under one roof, the kid’s room looks high-spirited. Individual beds with loft areas for all the fun activities give the siblings a sense of ownership. The beds are separated by stairs with a chamber that treats the feeling of togetherness. Thus, creating a balance of emotions. Not to disappoint either, Avyan has a blue-theme bed and loft area with a rocket rooftop design and avenger wall décor with his name etched over the headboard. Whereas, Anaira has a pink color bed and loft area, which is designed with a doll rooftop and magnet board games on the wall with her name over the headboard alongside a unicorn and a rainbow wall design. The wall climbers and basketball board make the kids super-active. The starry roof, cute window blinds, and the mermaid set out the fancy interiors of the kid’s room.
Different personalities are no barrier to a strong bond. Farah, a 13-year-old has just stepped into her teens and is inclined toward technology, and the how about. Her younger sibling Zoha, 9 years old, is bubbly and enjoys dancing and singing. She has a passion for vlogging and has a social media page to showcase her work. The parent’s wish list for their kid’s room included a wall exclusively designed as a good background for Zoha’s videos, a provision for the dollhouses, and a study desk.
Moving beyond cliches-pink for girls, the room has a tone of blue and purple. A study corner gives space for mindful reading, and so there is a study desk for independent learning which also has a pin-up board and a pen board for doodling or making a study plan. Aesthetics add to the environment of the kid’s room. Twinkle star-shaped mirrors on the wardrobe, a floral wall that shines, a world map on either side of the bed, and wall shelves are part of the decor that gives a vibrant appearance to the princesses' room.
Shaurya and Sharath were about to receive a magical kid’s room for their birthday. The playful boys enjoy dwelling in fun-filled activities. The main elements the parent wanted in the room included storage and a king-size bed. As the boys are zestful, wall climbing and monkey bar were on the list too. Bookshelves, a loft area, and a study desk were among the other required furniture.
The white theme gives a gleaming appearance to the room. The room incorporates all the elements from the wishlist of the parent. The princely bed, an activity-filled functional loft area with an artboard on the wall, and a solar system roof wall decor give a classy look. With compact space, smart storage is the way to go, hence the stairs to the loft also serve as cabins. The study desk, the book rack, and the play wall with climbers and ropes give a powerful vibe to the room. The Discover world map room wallpaper, the cute blinds, and the gray-blue-yellow color scheme add to the aesthetics.
A well-known poet, Diane Ackerman says, “Play is our brain’s favorite way of learning”. This quote is apt for the kids as researchers have found that play enriches learning.
The word PLAY carries the feeling of joy and brings a spark to the mind. Aarvik’s playroom has just the same energy. Having a room exclusive for games and adventures is truly exciting. It is also a reason to bring home buddies for more fun. Toys, construction blocks, and storybooks abound in the room. Bringing outdoor, indoors, there are climbers and ropes. Climb up to the loft area to read books or play board games on a plush mattress. And slide down to play Lego on the table board. The appearance of the room always adds to the vibe, and so do the cloud-shaped ceiling lights and window blinds, car decor on the stair wall, and the vibrant colors creating the perfect environment for all the fun.
The primary space for kids to think, self-reflect, recharge their batteries, and grow wings to their dreams, is their bedroom. A personal space created based on their likes and preferences roots them to their true self and in discovering themselves with each passing phase. Research shows that children, whose rooms are space-structured by parents, spend less time in their rooms compared to the child’s own structured space. Childhood is a precious phase, a foundation for the coming years concerning habits and experiences because childhood affects behavior and personality into adulthood.
When is the right time to provide a separate room for your kid? The answer is simple, it is when they are ready. Pushing them into a new room or not letting them have their personal space, both practices are unhealthy. Who other than parents know the best? Based on the child’s capability to supervise themselves and take charge of their own space, parents can think about a separate room for their kids.
Under one roof, as the kid grows, they can relate to who they were and who they are becoming and this plays a greater part in understanding themselves and in developing their personality.
According to a study by Stoecklin (1999), the building, interiors of the room, and its arrangements and selection of pieces of equipment have a profound impact on children’s behavior.
Nature is a natural therapy for healthy mental well-being, it accelerates a multitude of positive emotions such as calmness and joy. Waking up to the sunrise and sleeping under the moonlight with the scent of breeze in the room does energize the body, physically and mentally, making the child feel less sleepy and with better concentration and improved logical thinking ability which is proven in a study by Tejsen et.al,.(2015) that measured the quality of sleep and next-day performance.
Every color is appealing and comes with the power of affecting the individual’s mood. Kids are indeed very active and need an environment to channel their energies through productive activities. Based on several studies, the colors that we are surrounded by in our daily lives, have a significant impact on our mood and conduct. (Kurt, 2014)
Play is dynamic and improves the social, cognitive, and emotional development of children. Hence, having a corner meant for physical activities and brain teasers helps the child in acquiring skills that boost confidence, self-esteem, and creativity to mention a few.
Children enjoy playing with toys. But post-play, the room appears chaotic. Therefore, providing unique storage space brings enthusiasm to tidy up after play. Along with it comes a sense of responsibility for taking care of their belongings, as an organized structure leads to better focus and lesser distractions.
A study table is a basic requirement for better and active learning. It creates an atmosphere that enhances the habit of studying.
Moments vanish unless they become a memory and we here at Magical Nest bond with you in building your kid’s room with love and joy, to add to the uncountable memories of your kid’s childhood.

Art is everything that enhances the beauty of a white canvas by bringing life to it through colors and textures. This is the line that goes with a toned-down room that is to be modified into a blazing one for children, as it is the space that builds the identity of the child. Here are 5 March Kids Rooms interiors that have been designed in every way possible to make it a safe and enjoyable environment for children.
Mr. and Mrs. Rajesh, parents of 4 and 12-year-old Sanvriti and Ritwik, chose to provide their children with a colorful and magnificent room. They consulted Magical Nest to design the dream interiors of their kids' room. They had two rooms for their tots, one for the teenager and one for the little princess because the adolescent needed seclusion and the young princess needed a lovely chamber. The parents discussed with the team their ideas and preferences, which were worked upon by the design team with utmost passion.
Sanvriti's room is inviting, with a unicorn on the wall and closet, as well as colorful steps leading up to the play loft. Lighting is an important aspect in making a space appear bright, and the cloud lights are perfect for the purpose, a study desk, and a whiteboard, along with the bookshelf made it look complete. It is the small things that add to the beauty, and the pretty butterfly knobs, star, and rainbow over the headboard made the room look lovely for the princess.
Ritwik, a guitar and sports fan, had his room designed according to his likes and preferences, down to the smallest details like the draw handles to the royal bed that adds to the space's elegance. There is a basketball board and a study area with a wall-mounted tv, where entertainment and studies go hand-in-hand.
Through constant contact with the design team, for the necessary modifications according to their requirement, the end product turned out to be more than beautiful. Happy Parents, Joyful kids!
Nature is so generous, there is sunshine, moonlight, and breeze, the most crucial parts of existence. And instead of showing gratitude, human activities are taking complete advantage of the resources. Here is the family who wants their children to share the warmth of the sun and feel the cool breeze in their kids’ room. Mr. and Mrs. Vohra, wanted a functional kids' room with good ventilation and spacious space for their two angels, Dhyana and Shanaya aged three and seven. After checking out many other design firms, Mr. Darshit found Magical Nest and called it truly magical as the company gives the best.
The design team worked skillfully to come up with the best plan to suit the parent’s expectations. With colors as subtle as white and pink, a shared room for the girls has hut-shaped independent beds, along with a wall-mounted book stack and a long study desk to learn and grow together. All-in-All a pretty pink room shimmered with rays of shine and a cool breeze.
Chaithra’s family was moving into a new apartment and they decided to get their little princess a room, designed by Magical Nest. As the old proverb goes - ‘A child who reads will be an adult who thinks,’ Avika was just one of those kinds, an avid reader. The main requirement of the parent was to have ample space for her books, stairs to the loft area for play, and altogether a minimalistic room that looks elegant.
With a combination of green and lavender, the room has a queen-size bed, opposite is subtle colored stairs leading to the well-cushioned loft area for reading and play. The study desk for all the learning, and a bedroom bench by the window to enjoy nature. The white butterfly knobs and a mermaid handle added to the prettiness of the kid’s room.
A kid who has multiple interests and wants to master all fields of learning, meet Avyaan. He is a boy who enjoys physical activities and brain teasers. Painting and drawing are his favorite pastimes. He has to be read bedtime stories and his father wishes he grows up to be a voracious reader.
Blue for boys may be cliched, but it works for Avyaan. A small space that keeps the child occupied with all of his favorite activities. The stairwell and slide to the loft area, which also functions as storage. A playful child that enjoys playing with slides and monkey bars. The loft is a great place to play games or solve mind-numbing puzzles.
“I'm not sure how, but if it's a superhero movie, my kid can't keep his eyes off the screen!” “Oh, my girl wants to enter her school's fancy costume competition dressed as her favourite superhero.” Do any of these lines seem familiar to you? What is it about superheroes that appeal so much to the children?
When children are young, they learn by their parents' actions. Initially, they serve as role models for them. As they mature, they gain a lot of exposure to people and the media. They are enthralled by the vibrantly animated cartoons and visually stunning films that they watch. Superhero series are such that they fascinate children. They enjoy themselves by watching the superhumans. However, children, being children, begin to imitate what they see and eventually go for a favorite superhero whom they draw inspiration from. Superman, Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel, and Spiderman, to name a few... It goes on and on.
Let me narrate a story to you. A vast grassland lay far out from human grasp, with a stone palace amidst it, encrusted with gleaming stones. The strong Infinity Stones were kept in an underground mystical cave that could be activated by chanting a spell in an evil tone. The most powerful dragon machines guarded this palace. The infinity stones were the source of such tremendous power. Inside of which lived the giant Thanos, who was destroying the Earth piece by piece and seizing control of the region. The Avengers wanted to get these stones back because they weren't supposed to be there. There was intellectual chaos in the Marvel-themed chamber where all of the Avengers were. The Tiny Superhero, a new member of the group, was introduced. They gathered to devise a strategy for combating Thanos. Finally, the day arrived for a showdown between Thanos and his henchmen and the Herculean Avengers, as well as the Tiny Superhero. The Avengers had made Thanos as weak as possible, taking away his powers bit by bit by fighting him, and they were about to capture and take control of the palace, but then... there was a voice, Oye my Tiny Superhero, Wake up. It's time to go to school! The child is awakened by his mother. Despite being disappointed at waking up in the middle of a dream, he was thrilled to share his dreams with his friends at school. The Tiny Superhero awoke feeling confident, energized, and ready to seize the day.
This is exactly what superheroes do. They boost confidence and encourage children to be brave and expressive. Although superheroes are made-up characters, their films teach valuable life lessons. Let us also read what each of your children's favourite superheroes tries to teach them.
Do you not want him to be in the neighbourhood but your kid’s room? Here it is! For your tiny spidey lover, there's a Spiderman-themed room interior. Spiderman is one of the most popular superheroes, particularly among kids. He is humorous, smart, and above all, who is always willing to lend a helping hand to people in need, which adds to his appeal. The room is designed with a life-size model-like room wallpaper of Spiderman to wake up to every morning so that your child has the same amount of energy as him. A study table, a basketball board for some fun for the in-between breaks during study time, and a comfortable bed to prepare for the following productive day.
There is so much exposure to children, and as parents, it is important to mold them in ways they become emotionally strong and grow up to be admirable with commendable values. So here is Mr. Cap to the rescue. A righteous superhero who is loyal, honest, and stands for what is right. Do you see these qualities in your little champion? A good environment to nurture them is essential and the Captain America theme room interior does the job for your kid. The Loft is designed with a plane that depicts the sky-high ambitions, ladder, and strings to play on to stay fit, also to not miss out on nature, a bedroom bench by the window. Dreaming to be stronger and waking up to motivation, your child’s every day will be more than better, and no wonder the young mind will grow up to be stronger and noble.
Batman symbolizes strength, intelligence, and determination. His main goal is to empower himself. He was in a difficult circumstance, but his willpower allowed him to emerge into the light. Every child has his or her unique approach to things. He strives to improve himself and be the best version of himself at all times. Your child will enjoy the Batman-themed room. The powerful Batmobile bed to zoom into dreamland, alongside is a book stack, and atop is a play area, all in one, a batman inspired room for your kid who rises and shines to become a hero of his own story.
Superman is an inspirational symbol of hope, strength, and freedom. As he grew, he learned about compassion, humility, and goodness. The Superman-themed room does the job to motivate your young energetic tot. It is easier for children to adapt to moral values when they are younger and it is the right age for parents to inculcate good instincts in their kids. That is what superman’s foster parents did. He knew the value of hard work and responsibility and that groomed him into the superhuman he is. So, here's the superman-themed room, complete with a Superman-themed bed, stairs to the loft play area designed with superhero symbols, a truck structure shelf for toys, and a bedroom bench.
Superheroes are an integral part of kids growing up these days, as they are not only entertaining but also help in developing valuable life lessons such as hope, courage, valor, empathy, and many more.
